Basically everyone chooses the piece number they wish to create and wait for the piece before it to be created, say you choose to do piece 27 you have to wait until the first 26 pieces have been finished.
Rules for the worm are quite general, NO PORN, NO STEALING OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK, NO BLATANT SPAM ADVERTISING (e.g. basing the whole piece around a websites url) and HAVE FUN WITH IT.
No one really cares if you're amazing at graphics, if you don't have GIMP or photoshop, paint will do, just as long as you're able to have a flow from the piece before and something that can be followed on from.
