Private wow servers are shit compared to the real paid for gameplay.

That isn't a biased opinion, because I use to own a very popular wow server and I've played 2 years of payed play.

I have never played a private server but I have seen videos of the usage, and I must admit some of it looks fun, but what you never see is the bugs and problems, private servers will never replace the real thing.

Like I said. There was a GM video a looooooooong time ago. It's fun in the beginning but I think it gets dull eventually.

As said, it doesn't beat the real thing.

If you play a good private server it's a lot better than the real thing imo. It's basically the same thing, except the GMs work a lot faster than the ones in the real WoW. atleast in most cases they do. Remember kids, there's more than just 1 private server. That means variety. There are hundreds if not thousands of different private servers for WoW. some of my favorite ones are the same as the P2P version, in other words, you have to level up/ get gold/ work on your character in the exact same way, but in some cases they do increase drop rates and experience rates. And of course there are bugs, most of them aren't too bad anymore, but even when i used to play, about a year ago, there were very few bugs, but they were big ones ^^. You could repeat quests if you had to get an item for the quest and the quest gave you an item ( You would keep the quest items, not get the reward, get the exp for the quest and the gold). i used it to get to 70 but not long after it was fixed, there was also a hunter bug where ur pet could do like 1 billion damage on anything. but that was fixed. past those, the bugs were pretty much gone. The biggest one that was left when i left the private server was that you could make ur pet as big as you wanted, my friend made his pet 10x the size of your screen, so when he summoned it, no one could see anything xD. But that is probably fixed by now. Anyways, my point is, of course there are bugs, and you can abuse them if you want to, and the admins actually encourage bug abuse on some servers (normally the good ones) so that they know about them and can fix them easier. So, my point is, on regular WoW you can only level up regularly and make gold and then when ur bored, and done with that, sell your account. On a private server you can do nearly anything you want, depending and what server you go to. You can go on a server and be a GM, you can be a regular player, you can have increased exp/drop rates, etc. That's why i believe it's a lot better. Also, you get it free, unlike the $15 usd or so that regular players pay in the official WoW.

EDIT: Also, forgot to add that Most private servers have custom scripts for instances and raids such as black temple and some others which i have forgotten x.x. Illidan was probably the most popular boss to fight cause it took like 25 guys to take him down, or 3 guys (1 guuy runs in circles, 1 mage for attacking, a healer to heal whoever has agro.) <--- on some servers, that does work because illidan has reduced stats. anyways, some servers are exactly like the real thing, but for free and with cooler GMs and scripts.

Having several top end wow characters, I know i apprechiate them more from all the effort you have to put in to them. You wouldn't get that as much on a private server.

and why do you appreciate them more? because you put money towards making them?private servers are for the people who don't want to pay for a game, and still have a decent game.

If you were to make that character in the same way, but without paying, i would be even prouder knowing that i didn't waste real money on it, although the waste of time is always a horrible loss no matter what you do, you always lose time.

Official servers > Private servers

If Private servers were better, than Blizzard would try to get it done like that.

There isn't much backup telling WHY Blizzard servers > private servers. If i'm given a good reason, then i might agree that blizzard servers > private servers.

Why are Official better than unofficial:

- Blizzard servers are maintained more efficiently than unofficial
- Blizzard servers will always be up-to-date with latest patches and hotfixes
- Blizzard servers keep regular backups of data
- Blizzard servers are more stable
- Blizzard servers are run on high-end servers
- Blizzard servers do not have abusive or admin-abusive GM's.
- Blizzard servers do not allow players to cheat their way up to a greater level
- Blizzard servers contain less script-kiddie-like morons

People who complain about the price of server payments need to really think about it a little more.
£45 (6 months) = £7.50 (1 month) = 25p (a day)

-maintained more efficently, only way i can compare them is if i knew how both were maintained, which would take notes from the admin(s)
-True, they are up to date, nothing to really say about that since i do know that private servers need to apply that to their source AFTER blizzard releases it, therefore it is impossible for them to be "up-to-date" unless they ask blizzard ahead of time for their patches, which cannot be done
-regular backups of data, most private servers backup their data daily so i wouldn't include that.
-more stable, depends on what your comparing the official servers to.
-high-end servers, again, depends on what your comparing the official servers to.
-True, some GMs do abuse their power, normally followed by a removal of their GM, but that depends again on what your comparing the offical servers to.
-I don't know any server that doesn't allow platers to cheat their way up, without consiquence.(back to my former statement in a different post, i said the admins encourage gltiching, but i never said they don't ban for glitching :P)
-less script-kiddie-like morons, are you talking about the admins or the scripts they make xD, I prefer people who make cooler scripts rather than some crap like, "and by the heavens i come down and will anihilate you". I prefer "I'MMA OWN YOU" rather than that crap

anything invloving paying = bad. 25 p = 50 cents (50 cent!!) per day, which means a dollar every 2 days. do yuo know what i can buy with a dollar? A KFC SNACKER FFS. KAY EFF CEE SNACKER!!!! those things are pro. opinion still not changed, but good try ^^.

EDIT: KAY EFF CEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
