The best part about this is that apparently they did learn from WaW:

- Maps are WAY too big
- OP weapons (Although I don't have them all yet, will have to wait and see, grrrrrr flamethrower )
- Sound
- Crap movement
- Tanks!

None of those are present in BO. The few maps I played so far have been ok in size. I played one large map (Array iirc, the one with the big circle kind of building in the middle) but even that one was fun to play. The only map I hated was the extremely tiny map with all the dolls (Nuketown?), but then, I didn't like maps like Shipment and Scrapyard either

A huge improvement over WaW.

And the most fun part about this all is that if you enjoy this game, you would enjoy MW2

Yep, I did feel that it errs towards the feeling of MW2 rather than WaW in terms of movement, but maybe that's just in my head as a result of all the MW2 points that keep appearing in the middle of the screen when you get kills and assists

I was digging around the Black Ops config and found this:
seta sys_configureGHz "0.0101378"

Comparing with COD4 config:
seta sys_configureGHz "10.3534"
Comparing with CODMW2 config:
seta sys_configureGHz "11.9689"

COD4 console says this about the cvar: "Normalized total CPU power, based on CPU type, count, and speed; used in autoconfigure"
Since the cvar value is to be determined by Black Ops and it is write protected we cannot change it. It appears clear the game isn't properly assigning a value here.

Post your own seta sys_configureGHz values see if they match my hypothesis.

Hey guys, I've been having trouble with something the last two days. I pre-ordered the PC version and picked it up at Wal-Mart, so all was good then.

I got back home, and excitedly tried to open the box. Guys, this box just won't open. I used a knife, scissors, even ridicule to try to get the thing open, but it won't budge.

Do you guys have any fixes? Here are my scissor and knife specs:

Scissor:
Blue and Black handle (Rubber coated)
6-7 inch metal blades

Knife:
8 inch steel knife (steak knife)
Textured plastic black handle.

If you guys don't have any fixes, when will Activision/Treyarch be fixing this problem? I really want to play guys!

After approximately 20 people telling me i should really get this game i gave in to the pressure and ordered it. Should have it tomorrow.

Here's how my 3rd MP match went on Black Ops (TDM):
Join server.
Choose assault (or whatever the m16 loadout is)
get 7 kills
die.
use all killstreaks.
get another 7 kills
die.
Get 5 more kills with killstreaks/regular gun.
Headshot someone across the map with 3 bullets.
5 seconds later "Server Disconnected - Kicked".

I think I'm already in love with this game

EDIT: My game keeps on dying after I reach 1,421,000K in Memory in my task manager :<. This usually happens after 2 games. I guess I need more ram, fml.

I'm finding the game a really enjoyable experience at the moment, one thing thats bugging me is I can't seem to change my fps?

Well my fps is just limited at 60 , if I type com_maxfps 40 into console sure enough it drops to a constant 40.

Howerver if I do com_maxfps 100 for example, its still stuck at 60, even looking at the sky when I get constant 60 looking over the whole map. Anyone had this or is it just not possible to put fps over 60?

It is definitely not my computer though, because on all high graphics I get constant 60, on all low it is still constant 60 (with com_maxfps at 125). Some command or something is stopping my fps >.<

Disable "Sync Every Frame" or anything similair to that. Enabling that in CoD4 makes you have 60 FPS.

turn off "Sync Every Frame" in Graphics. That's the most common reason for why you would have 60 fps like that. If you have it turned off, then I have no idea.

Thanks alot guys it was the Sync Every Frame, I knew about taht from CoD4 but just didn't think to check, I wouldn't have thought it would be on by default though :S

Still the game has much less fps on average than CoD4, alot of FX and stuff I guess.

The issue is with the way the game is told to handle system resources, this is proven by very high end computers getting the same FPS as much lesser systems.

That isn't as much as a problem to me as the game crashing every two games .
