Well, I've tried changing the texture filter, render method and texture quality, none of which seem to affect transparency. It's odd because you CAN see through it in Radiant and not in-game.

Can you post a small tut on how you make the liquid in radiant?
Thanx in advance.

Nothing special, you just make a normal brush, texture all sides of it with the clip_water texture then texture the top side of it with the slime one.

Why would you change it to a terrain patch? A water brush works better as it skewes the view when you're inside it.

When the hell are you talking about? O.o Even if you get under the water(i.e. inside the water brush) it doesn't make the other walls invisible, it just skewes your vision to give an impression of being under water(a very poor impression - in the original CoD2 you weren't ever supposed to be under the water except if you happen to die over it).

@Sam:

Yeah it's how I usually do it but it shouldn't make any difference what texture you use, you could use a floor texture and only use the slime on one part and it would still have to show it as transparent.

MM..can't wait to try it when I get home.

I made it clip_water and now it looks like this.
So that was the whole problem .... again thx for helping.

Well I can make it seem waving via script to simulate the waving effect from cod1. Will post a tut soon.

I'd be interested to see that.
I did this in Maniac Mansion did I not?
There is already a shader for oceans which simulate high rising waves.

Cod2 doesn't use shaders. :P But yeah you did do it in cod1, unfortunately I couldn't re-do it in cod2. Don't get your hopes up too much, it's just a crude visual trick to simulate moving waves.
