I was taught it as BODMAS
Brackets and Orders being the change.

Although after quick google:
PEDMAS, BEDMAS and BIDMAS (Indices) are also used, depending on location.

Surely "2+1:1" would be considered an illogical expression, I'm no maths expert but I would imagine ratios cannot simply be used in this way :S
