If you press it twice, you stay double the time. So you could stay up until you time out, if you press it 10-20 times.

Yeh, but I figure each time you do it you drop maybe 1 unit if you time it perfectly.

No, if you press it twice it stays twice as long. You don't have to press it the second time right after the first 'freeze' is finished, you can do it before.
