Big map wont compile

i have this map that pretty big,uo only, ground is all patches, i'll get map info when i get home. but anyways, it compiles slowly and then when it say "84 unique patches" it stop for a minute and then my computer goes really slow

just wait after it says the 84 unique patches thing and let it keep on going. try that

Makes your brushes smaller. Chop them in half etc. Brushes that ar eover a certain length cause crashes, not sure of the length but I usually wouldn't go above 2000

i did that and it gave me a 16MB MAX LIGHTMAP ERROR or something, i doesnt give me anymore brush errors, it just freezes, and i converted everything over 2000 units to patches, so idk, i could try leaving the compiler on im just afraid that it may cause perm. damage to my computer

Those patches look complex and yet flat. I would suggest using smaller patches, a lot of detailed work in game is done with large patches.
