Proper Lighting

Post by Lethal323 » July 8th, 2007, 11:38 pm

Start by creating your basic room.

Depending on what type of lighting you want you can do different things...

So we will go over a few different types...

Ambient Lighting

To do some basic ambient lighting just select all the walls of your room.

Give them the following values

Key: ambient
Value: 1

Press Enter

Key: _color
Value: 1.000000 1.000000 0.823529

That's it.

Indoor Advance Lighting

Now this is a little better looking...

Make all your lights so that the inner radius is about 16 units from the ground and ceiling.

Now make a bunch of lights and make sure the inner radius is about 16 units from each light and wall.

Sky Box Outdoor Lighting

Sky Box Outdoor lighting this will make your outdoor map look a lot nicer.

To do some basic ambient lighting just select all the walls of your skybox.

Give them the following values

Key: ambient
Value: 1

Press Enter

Key: _color
Value: 1.000000 1.000000 0.823529

That's it
