Good old Quake III <3

Post by Hardcore » March 26th, 2013, 4:35 am

I got bored today so I relaunched my old Quake III which was my first fps. Aaaah the good old days when the notion of skill means something and you do not need to be assisted to kill someone... And also you're not treated as a cheater when you're good!

And for the one who are not oldschool here, it's in this game that jumping was born. Yup, even before cod1.

So I wanted to share one of my favorite Fragmovie of all time : The Contenders 2

"Good game never dies, CoD is released yearly"

Also, better quality here : http://video.alienwarearena.com/movie/1 ... ntenders_2

In 2000-2003 I didn't have a computer, but my granny did, and I found Quake 3 on her computer. The problem was that mouse movement was inversed (when I moved mouse forward, the player would look down), and I couldn't manage to make it regular. But eventually I got used to it and won middle-level bots. The nightmare level has always been too difficult for me, though.

Hehe I also remember the first time I played it :p

It was at school, I was 11 and we had to do some shit on computers. Instead on this, my classmates and me have downloaded the demo of this game and we have done a big LAN xD We were 8 playing on it.

This was also the first time I had a rough punition hahaha

I didn't choose the thug life, the thug life choose me.

Such a great game, wish I was gaming for those years.
Also, not just this game, but these old-school style frag movies are so much more fun to watch than the newer over-edited videos.

I used to play this avidly. Kinda miss playing it :(
Also I'm in that movie @ 7:30 *humblebrag*

By the way, you can play Quake for free these days at quakelive.com
It's pretty active. I used to have an account there since the beta but it lapsed, might start playing again soon :)

I'm back!

I moved on to other pastures since the original Call of Duty and frankly forgot about this place.
Glad to see familiar faces are still around :D What do you guys play these days?
