I watched an interview with the creator of the mod DayZ a few days ago and basically what he said was that he is not able to keep up with the popularity which it's getting right now. DayZ was supposed to have about 3-5 servers and it ended up having 1400 instead and not even mentioning the 700.000 players (give or take).
He's planning on working on all the bugs and trying to improve it in the upcomming days/weeks. Also he announced some cool features which will be updated in the future. For example, players will have to oppertunity to go underground and create a hiding place and actually build from there.
I also told Peds that there actually is a way to navigate by stars in dayz, like you can in real life (if you know how ofcourse).
I did some more research on this and it's actually possible
.
Also, and probably the most important thing out of the interview, they asked what would become of DayZ since the creator of the mod does not earn ANY money at all because it's all based on ArmA. His reponds to that was that he'll probably try to make DayZ a stand alone game by the end of september but after reading Drofd's post that ArmA is providing him support with developing I'd say that he'll eventually get his split of the people who bought ArmA 2 over the last couple of weeks/months or they'll find some other way of rewarding him with something.
