Post by strangemusic » August 20th, 2011, 8:57 am

Hello. Im new to this site and ive noticed youve helped alot of people so im hoping you can help me.

Ive downloaded radiant and everytime ive loaded it it tells me ;

FATAL ERROR : could'nt load material '$default'
GetLastError() =2
an unrecoverable error has occurred. Would you like to edit
Preferences before exiting Q3Radiant?

ive clicked yes and selected the project file.

Ive also read this post and did such and it did not help.

Any ideas would be appreciatted.

Error is caused (most often) by 1 of the following 3 things.

1: If you are running Vista/Win7, you should make sure you are running as administrator and also it may help to run in XP compatible mode.

2: Some files are corrupt. Uninstall everything. Install game from disc and patch (redownload your patches to make sure everything is fine). Redownload all the tools and any patches. Install the main tools and run the convertor, then patch the tools and run convertor again.

3. The files are badly placed. Use the STOCK location for everything. This should be: C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty - World at War. Do not move anything.
