Didn't Know about this: Principality of Sealand, pretty interesting

Cuban Missile Crisis, should be known to everyone, because we were never closer to a third world war or nuclear world war.

The thing about the Aeolipile is really cool. I already Know about that, but think of: This could be the first steam-engine and this could have start the industrial revolution 1700 years ago... would be awesome to live 1700 years in the future

Llanberis Ammo Storage. We went down in to these caverns, mostly pitch black, but a massive quarry going behind it.
Used as an ammo storage originally, but collapsed (I think it was due to the fact they were disguising it by covering it with grass & slate, and the weight was too much for ceiling).

There are still potentially live bombs at the bottom of the quarry lake, but they cleared and destroyed a massive amount of the stockpile. A local pub owner had some unique shots of the area during the time of the massive bomb clear out, where they drained an entire lake and some pictures of them burning the incendiary stuff they were last storing...
An intersting fact, the pub owners also run "http://www.filmhorses.co.uk/" where they train horses for films such as Robin Hood and TV - Merlin.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock
Hathcock only once removed the white feather from his bush hat while deployed in Vietnam.During a volunteer mission days before the end of his first deployment, he crawled over 1,500 yards of field to shoot an NVA commanding general. He wasn't informed of the details of the mission until he accepted it.This effort took four days and three nights, without sleep, of constant inch-by-inch crawling.
