have you checked http://www.modsonline.com for the tutorial on placing objects in?? thats a good way to do it... its explained there i believe
If you didn't understand my last post, you have to change the "xmodel/modelname" to whatever the model is called. In your case, it will be like this: "xmodel/cow_standing"
Maybe the entities is showed as a bounding box. Try to go to View --> Entities as --> Skinned and see if you can see the model now.

How to Insert Models
-Right-Click on 2D window
-Select Misc then Model (You should now have 3 things, the entity window, and open dialog and a red box on your map)
-Close the Open Dialog
-Type in the Key and Value as...
Key - Model
Value - xmodel/<model> (Where <model> is the full model name)
Ok, there is one more way, which will be easier if you do not know the full name of your model (or cannot spell )
Easier Way
-Go to your Main folder and find pak0.pk3
-Open the pk3 using Winrar
-Extract the "xmodel" folder to your Main directory (Default = C:/Program Files/Call of Duty/Main/)
-Open Radiant
-Right-Click on 2D window
-Select Misc then Model (You should now have 3 things, the entity window, and open dialog and a red box on your map)
-This time do not close the open dialog, instead navigate to the xmodel folder you just extracted
-Find the xmodel you want and click OK
-Now, in the Key and Value Box you will see
Key - Model
Value - c:/program files/call of duty/main/xmodel/cow_dead
-Delete the part in Bold to make xmodel/cow_dead
And btw, if you didnt know... there are 3 cow models...
xmodel/cow_dead
xmodel/cow_dead2
xmodel/cow_standing
-Right-Click on 2D window

Neon... Graphics Section tbh
And guys, a few questions...
1. Can you see the model in Radiant?
2. Which method did you insert the models with? (Misc_Model or Load<Collmap)
3. Which model are you having the problems with, or is it all?
