Re: Fallout New Vegas
It lacks some of the charm of Fallout 3. They tried to create a more western atmosphere and in some aspects they pulled it off, but it doesn't really immerse you properly. There's also just a distinctly smaller amount of effort put into the game. The AI pathing is questionable at times, some of the terrain seems far too steep to still be traversable, and it is much more common to hear the same line of dialogue many many times.

Re: Fallout New Vegas
I'm still enjoying it a lot though.
But I still see some buildings which look the same and I also recognise some faces. There's some stuff recycled.
But from what I can see the world is bigger but it also looks less destroyed than Washington. As if it's safer to go outside. There's no fear of the unknown.
I also hope there will be something as awesome as Rivet City but I doubt that

Re: Fallout New Vegas
Well the reason it isn't as destroyed is because only 7 out of the 90 nukes aimed at the Mojave area, actually exploded.

Re: Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 3 had a more apocalyptic (sp ) feel to it. Not as much as in New Vegas.
But like I said, it's still awesome and I'm glad I bought this.

I finally made it to a vault today after 25 hours. I was happy.

Re: Fallout New Vegas
I've got 3 vaults on my map now, will go to I think number 3 first (The one with the lost soldier and those Fiends).

Re: Fallout New Vegas
71 hours to finish and I've got to say this is even better than Fallout 3. One of my main criticisms was the story to begin with, and while even in the end it may not be the absolute best, the complexity and intricacy of the factions and their interactions is absolutely outstanding. My other complaint about performance bugs still stands, there are quite a few and overall the game doesn't feel quite as finished as F3. At a point, though, I completely forgot about that due to the game being so fucking awesome. Seriously, this game is fucking amazing. It redefines what I thought open world, open ended games could be, which is quite phenomenal from a game that I would have originally called (as Drofder put it) a big expansion to Fallout 3.

Re: Fallout New Vegas
I enjoy every minute aswell.
I just finished exploring the whole town of New Vegas, was a little bit annoyed by the amount of NPCs I could talk to though. But I want to get every quest there is so I had to talk to every NPC I could possibly talk to. Slowed the game a bit and I got a little bit bored of it but that part is finished.

Re: Fallout New Vegas
48 hours into it and I still have to do the Boomer's quest line, kill off Legion, explore 2-3 more vaults, discover a shitload more places, and many other things.
I plan on doing the Boomer's quest line next, then going to Jacobstown .

Re: Fallout New Vegas
Boomers questline is rather short. Although that might be because I had already done a lot fo things before I got there. Jacobstown is great, don't look at the nightkin!!!Infinite wrote:I plan on doing the Boomer's quest line next, then going to Jacobstown .
Also:
Mysterious Magnum is awesome.

Mysterious Magnum is awesome.
Just finished killing off Caesar with Boone (which was AWESOME), and I did the Jacobstown and Boomer quests.
Mysterious Magnum? Looks like I'll be adding that to my collection of big irons to put on my hip . I love the Ranger Sequoia but the ammo is a pain to get tbh.
