They don't speak and they don't write it. Of course there are origins there, but there are Latin origins everywhere. Doesn't change the fact that the language is dead.

language is maybe dead but you can derive from latin words of many other languages :)

They use latin for words so every surgeon, doctor whatever know what it means.

Latin is the number 1 language in the medical world.

also one of the most derived from language in the world. Which is why i can understand half of what some people say in other languages (besides some weird ones like Russian and German)

German is derived from Latin as well. However, the majority of the world does not speak a language derived from Latin. Therefore I win.

It depends on where you live/ what languages you normally hear i suppose. If you live in Asia, Latin has absolutely no use, but if you live in Canada, Europe, or the Americas, then most languages in those areas have some association with Latin.
