jimbojetuks first ever map...mp_jimbojump!!!

well its going to be quite a long map. I hope its not too boring. Is it decent for a first map so far? in the next map if got broken walls n stuff. Im in mixed opinions here. Should i make a 125 jump? Or will that cheese off everyone cos of ppl with like 85fps average not listening to people saying 125fps -- and holding everyone up?

1. make a new folder on your desktop; called whatever e.g. "maptemp"
now create new folders in the maptemp:
- "images"
- "maps" /inside a folder called "mp"
- "materials"
- "mp"
- "sound"
- "soundaliases"
these are the basic folders there could be more for own imported models; etc.
images:
If you use custom textures you have to put the *.iwi in "images" ; only CUSTOM TEXTURES
materials:
and in here the materials files for the custom textures
maps:
inside this folder is an other folder called "mp":
put in this your mp_mapname.d3dbsp and mp_mapname.gsc and all other scripts related to your mp_mapname.gsc
mp: ; dont need it but you can add it
in the "mp" folder you can put your mp_mapname.arena; an arena file contains the info that it is shown in the menu
example:
longname: a long name for your map
gametype: the gametypes the map supports make just dm
save that as mp_mapname.arena in the mp folder NOT in the maps->mp
sound:
here your soundfiles in the right folders
soundaliases:
contains your mp_mapname.csv
(make nightmares soundtutorial under codtutorials and you will see)
these were the basic folders
now you make an zip-file:
and make either with winzip or winrar an zip without any compression
now you have a mapnameorwhatever.zip now rename it to mapnameorwhatever.iwd and you' ve got an iwd file
And be sure that you make it like that way and do NOT zip the folder maptemp[/b]

thanks, i figured it out before i read this though...
Still this will be a great guide for in cod2 mapping tutorials. It must have taken me 3 hours to figure it out lol, Changing arena files, renaming gcvs n stuff doing all the crap i didnt need 2 do.
Just wondering, when the final product is completed, could some good photoshopper (if thats a word ) make a decent loading screen for it?

jimbo you gave me a scan of a room i wanted to include in my map can you map it yourself and upload the map file so that you can make it how you want it and i will include it huh? - i am atm working on my ropeway and that needs time had to remake a whole patchside due to this texture error

took me 2-3 Tryes sometimes Nice Map good work
