FPS Question

Post by rufas1 » August 31st, 2013, 7:51 am

Since I can only get to 125 FPS and below, I was wondering if I could change the jump height and speed in a private match to make it seem like I actually can get up to 250 fps or 333 FPS. My 3 questions are; Would this work? If so, would it be cheap if I did the 250 and 333 FPS jumps this way? And if not, how high and far does 250 and 333 go?

333 fps is not 125 speeded up or so. it's just different behaviour in air. If you try to do a jump with 333 fps but using the 125 fps technique, you won't get as far as with 125. I would suggest you lowering all the settings and trying some graphic cheat-protected commands on your own server.

Yeah basically everything megazor said. Trying to emulate 250 or 333 fps by using speed, grav and jump height commands wont work. They all act differently when travelling through the air especially at different angles.
Even if you did it would just be counted as cheating and be frowned upon (I assume you meant for demo/video purposes btw). It's similar to people who used timescale to emulate 1000fps and run up long distances. With timescale you could make longer runs much easier, 1000fps doesn't work like that.
