radaint error help

I got this error

Fatal error: could't load material '$default'
GetLastErrorO = 2
An unrecoverble error has occured ....
I putted the material in the main folder everywhere but does not
Work please help

I also want to know how to put the cod 4 path in the
Compile tools preferences everytime I put it in it shows
Nothing in the box please help I will tell you how to

To put a path in, hit browse and then locate your CoD4 folder.
Then click ok.

But when I enter the browse and click cod4 folder
It does nothing is there a solution
