[SOLVED] map problem

Post by Goro92 » March 17th, 2013, 8:21 pm

Hi there, I'm close to finish my new jump map but I've a big problem..I really don't know how to explain that, so I've made a video:

http://www.xfire.com/videos/5ebd88

You'll see something wrong in the weapon(rpg), the rpg is "flickering"(don't know if this word is correct). 0:05 0:08 0:11
I get this error only with high FPS, over 250, and looking in specific areas(yes, I've tryed to delete them).

If someone can help me it would be great.

Potentials:
1. Possibly a "too many entities"? (developer 1, check console for error)
2. A hidden brush on the level? (Radiant, enable all filters and select all)

Are you able to stay in the position and the RPG is gone or only flickering?

Get someone else to test it, may be a problem your end.

Have you used portals in the map?

1) I get a strange error: MAX_SCENE_SURFS_SIZE (131072) exceeded - not drawing surface
2) probably, I deleted half of the map, there is no more errors (no flickering, no max_scene_surfs error)
I'll delete 50% of the map, recompile, see the error, delete another half, recompile etc, again and again :)

nope

No, should I? I always thought that using portals with help you with map like Vacant ( a lot of "closed" rooms, not an open one)

Thanks

The error you are receiving - is this received in-game or in radiant?

How many models/script_models/prefabs do you have in your map.

I am going to see there are too many models. Delete half of those models and see what happens.

Righto. I still stick with the whole "thats a lot of models" though. I would get a second opinion, but remember the game has limits.

By any chance is it a custom map PATH type map, or free roam? Hope it has a particular path :/
