yh great point
the best maps (in my opinion) are the ones which require skill but are not extremely hard and maps which are also creative but not extremely fps demanding.

A lot of jump maps at the start of CoD1 were designed in sections, if you failed a jump, you just had to restart that section. It was all about trying over and over again. And you can still do that, but with the save mod. Also because the mapper experience and overall jumping experience has increased, so people can design harder jumps, methods to beat that specific jump, that's where the CJ mod comes in handy.

Saving is also used a lot on normal stock maps, tbh the most important thing is that it can be used in stock maps.
