redirect setup problems
i have recently setup my own codjumper server and am having trouble getting the redirct to go over 12kbs cant under stand what im doing wrong
my redirct setup
// Client Download Settings. (0=off/1=on)
// If you do not have a seperate re-direct server, all required files are downloaded from the game server
// at a very low bit rate like 20kb a second
set sv_allowdownload "1"
seta sv_wwwDownload "1"
seta sv_wwwBaseURL "http://www.lonelygamers.co.uk/mods"
seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "0"
// Rate
// [Server bandwidth (bits)] / ([Num Clients] x 8 ) = [sv_maxrate]
set sv_maxRate "25000"
any advice welcome

Re: redirect setup problems
1st thing you must do this minute is remove that .cfg file from the redirect server.
It should "only" be in the mods folder of the game server. On the redirect every1 has access to it and this will give then all the info like rcom pw.
The website you are using seems to be setting the slow download speed. im geting 60kbs for the iwds and only 20kbs for the .ff.
You will need to uncap the speed for the mods folder if you have access to admin on the server.

Re: redirect setup problems
You should check that, as Ive already looked there for the download settings and it is,
Change the rcon pw and also the private pw

Re: redirect setup problems
rcon pw in cfg is wrong one as pw is set in .exe but this is getting off topic
Re: redirect setup problems
try without the /mods in the sv_wwwbaseurl
In cod2 you should never give the subfolder to the redirect...

Re: redirect setup problems

Re: redirect setup problems
The config and redirect itself look fine to me. When you join the server, does it download at 12kb/s from the server or from the redirect?
What do you mean?viperbite40k wrote:btw dont know if this would affect it but redirct is on same server as codjumper

Re: redirect setup problems
Quotes from your website:
I used to get 350kbs on a 10MB connection server, is this site home hosted atm?
Most game server will be down for the time being while the bandwidth is slower than normal, sorry about this but is temporary
Redirect servers are usually located on a diferent server to stop any lag issues with the game server, and alot of servers cap the download speed to restrict this lag as well.The server has been moved and the site is fully back, altho there is a temporary catch. It is on a slow connection, so for the time being, limited game servers will be running at a time

Re: redirect setup problems
Are you able to download files off the clan website at more than 12kb/s? Even the redirect section, if you try and download a file from it using Firefox instead of CoD4?viperbite40k wrote:@B4 yes not on dedi hosting company server

Re: redirect setup problems
I would recommend speaking with the people who provide your server then, clearly it's an issue with their redirect.
