Is there such thing as free web hosting? I'm looking for a place where I can upload some files and people can download them. I know the good ones you will have to pay for, but is there a way I can get it for free?

If you're looking for a place where people can upload and download files for free then you're porbably going to have problems m8. Also if they can upload they are probably also able to delete things off the site, so some idiot may find it funny to delete all your files

Good free hosting sites I know of are http://www.angelfire.com and http://www.geocities.com - I haven't used them for ages though, and they both have ads on them.

I'm looking for just a place where I can upload a map or a movie to and give people the URL link. When they click it open, they get one of those boxes asking if they want to Save/Open the file. Kinda like on the CoD Magazine link.

set up a gmail account and upload the files.... then if you publicly send out the pass n username so people can upload n download maps...

... other than that.. some gameservers come with a fair sized ftp cache.... you can upload files and make them accessable to dl from your forums....
