Yeh, I was thinking that aswell. Teach these guys how to and you can equip them with one incase of a slip... I mean, look at the few times he actually used the hook, 4 or 5 times ? And those were only to make a break.

Just the idea of crawling all the way down again...

I know somebody who does it for a living (me him on holiday in Wales), the money they paid is awesome. He used to be a Mountain Rescue volunteer. Most of these guys are former mountain climbers (or mountain climb as a hobbie).

He said most of the jobs you do are "repositioning" jobs, which is simply climb to the top, move the antenna and then climb down. Each job usually has 3 staff, two climbers and one foreman. They end up with over a £1000 per job, on the quick jobs and the longer jobs double that.

But, I would not be climbing that, for nothing under a million

I was thinking this earlier...I decided i'd want about £250,000+, and i'd be using the safety hooks a heck of a lot more. It'd also take me several hours due to how carefuly i'd be doing it.

I would probally do it for less. But i'd take 2 safety hooks so you can always have one attached to the pole. If you take your time (which i definitely would) there's not much that can go wrong.

But no way i would be doing it the way this guy does xD

I shivered so much first time, but after a while it was pretty fun.
Its just a matter of time and you love it. The longer you look down, the longer you accustom. I was on there 3 times and the last time i steered it bymyself.
But i allways tried to fix my hook on the building, not on the cage. This free climbing is incredible

I just did a years ago from time to time..when you dont do it regular u will be scared. These guys train it every day even theres a job or not. They have training courses
