Tutorial - New sky (CoD4)

Matty ask me how to get new sky in cod, so i make little tutorial how to get it.

First, download iw_sky.iwd in attachment (its modded sky files) and place it in any mod folder in cod, then record what you want with fraps (with blue sky) and then open your vid. in After Effects (you can also use Sony Vegas, but i will use AE).

(I will change sky on this screenshot for example)




In AE select Effects & Presets -> Keying -> Keylight 1.2 (in SV its called "Color Key" or "Chroma Key") and in "Screen Colour" select blue color.



Then, in AE / SV create new layer and put your sky video / image or make it with any Clouds Generation plugin (i use GenArts Sapphire plugins for this, you can also create clouds in Photoshop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW0y_ePz7ic i made this clouds with CS3).



And then Export (you can add. some effects before export it) it to .avi (uncompressed) or screenshots files if you will edit it with any another programs.



Enjoy your new sky in cod.

And iw_sky.iwd is only for cod4.

thanks and nice. But 1 thing i dont have after effects or photoshop i tryed 2 get after effects for free but couldnt fuguer it out so wat if i just record with fraps then go sony?.

I would imagine that you could do the same for any game as long as you can edit the sky.

I downloaded the iw file, I pasted it in "main", qhen i create a new server the sky is just blue , but when i join another server the sky is the default sky of the map........do you know how to play with this "changed sky" in others servers? Can u make a black sky for trying it?

That would be too easy. No you can't use on other servers because otherwise I could create walls you can see through, and we are there. Those changes (skins, skies and so on) are only possible on your server.
