I said it was depressing because an incredibly talented man like this plays for just enough food to get by on the streets while untalented, pompous rappers sit in their mansions counting their millions. When I see that video, it reminds me that we live in a greedy, capitalistic society ruled by the idiotic masses, while the brilliant and interesting individuals are shoved to the bottom and buried beneath the majority's timeless ignorance. This guy (The first drummer in particular) could've been a drummer in a kick ass band. Now tbh making music in a band requires much more skill than singing in a band. I am impressed by people who sing and play a guitar or something because the combination of that is pretty difficult.

My opinions:

I'm not saying that the guy in the first video is good, but playing fast dosen't automatically make you an amazing drummer. Fast drumming is often times not rhythmic and just "fast drumming", nothing more. Being able to keep a good rhythm and tempo is far more important than playing fast, and it also takes much more skill.

Also, I enjoy listening to rap when I'm studying because I start typing to the beat and I can work much better for some strange reason But, I only like old-school rap because it's not all about "porn, bitches, money, and cars". tbh I hate songs like that, it's like their actually trying to make us think that they're fagots. They just try to be "bad-ass" and "hard-core", and that's not what I want to listen to, because they just end up making themselves look like retards... except to other people who share the same interests of bragging and being stuck-up.

That is a steaming pile of shit. He isn't even fucking singing (as per the requirements of rap). Speaking in rhythmic tones does not constitute music. It takes no god damn talent to do. I honestly cannot understand why people would pay other people to ruin what music is. I wish everyone got glory and riches for being shit at something, if they did I would be the most famous football player in the world. Let me give you some examples of talent so you'll understand better.



Talented. Why? Learning the piano is an art, one that takes many years to perfect. To compose music is many levels above that to a point many people can't even comprehend. Unmatchable Skill



Talented. Why? Not only because Yo Yo Ma*, widely considered the world's most talented Cello player, is barely better than them, or the fact that they play while headbanging, standing up, and moving around stage. Rather, because they took a step in an original direction, playing heavy metal on classical instruments and did so with unrivaled success and amazing skill. Originality and creativity are some of the cornerstones of talent. Originality



Talented. Why? Not only because that is unrivaled vocal talent, and not only because it is bringing vocal talent to a genre where it is not known for it, but because it is vocal talent among four of the group's members, and is brought together with an artistic and technical perfection. Artistic/Technical Perfection



Talented. Why? Consider what I mentioned about the piano and Yo Yo Ma. This is similar, yet extends itself around more modern music to help you understand the connection I'm trying to make. I'm not saying that only old music is good, I'm saying talent is good. This man clearly possesses talent with his amazing adeptness at a skill that many could not reach, even after years of training. Doesn't have to be old



Talented. Why? While this man did not create the music he is mixing, he has taken it all and put it together to create a masterpiece. He has created something out of many individual parts, and brought it together in a way where it all fits. That is definitely not an easy task. I know people that have mixed for many, many years and are not even close to this level of ability. It is something some people are just able to do, not everyone can do it. Something not everyone can do



UNTALENTED.
Why? The background music is a simple beat, the best that you might ever hear of this "genre" will easily be outclassed by techno or something similar (see above). While it is not old, it is definitely not new. Not only has it been done countless times before, but I don't have a doubt in my mind that that exact same beat has been used before (and for that matter probably almost identical lyrics). There is no perfection in this at all, in fact there isn't even singing. The "artist" is talking in a cool tone to a rhythm, there is hardly even a change in the notes. Lastly, anybody could do this if they tried at all. The only difference between this asshole who has millions of dollars and the next shit rapper who has nothing is that one lucky break that gives way to fame. After all, the ignorant masses always need at least one idiotic idol to follow.

I'm not saying you shouldn't listen to rap, or that it is bad for what it is. But what it is is an embarrassment to music. To associate with music is a crime to the artistic nature of song which we have built over thousands of years. If you have to listen to the crap, listen to it recognizing it is talentless garbage and please, for the love of God, don't buy anything from these jerks.
