Changing IP adress

Post by <LT>YosemiteSam[NL] » May 25th, 2005, 8:05 am

Every once in a while my provider changes my dynamic IP adress which I have no influence on what so ever. After that my internet connection is dead and I have to reset my ADSL modem to get it working again.
Normally that wouldn't be a problem but I run a dedicated CoD server which is ofcourse based on the IP adress. If it changes everytime, people will try to join with the old IP adress and will think that it's offline and go somewhere else

Does anyone know how to keep the same IP adress (or an other option) on my CoDserver so that I won't have that problem again ?

Thx in advance.

You cant with a dynamic IP unfortuantly :( See if they will offer you a static IP. I have a static IP for hosting a web server, you really do need static.

That's too bad.
I'll give em a call, but the question is if the provider can/will do that. Hopefully, cause It's getting pretty annoying when there are alot of people playing on the server and after the IP changes there's no one there anymore
