[CoD4 Map] - Gap Range Release

Post by Drofder2004 » January 21st, 2008, 4:20 am

My first release as usual a gap testing map. But this one is a little more advanced than my previous ones. Try it yourself to find out why...

Unzip the contents of the zip to the root CoD4 directory...
(default: C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare)

usage
Load CoD4
Click 'Mods'
Load any Mod (customMaps if you have no other)
In console, /map mp_gap_range, enter.

Tell me if you have any problems/errors/whatever.

Enjoy. :)

This map will not be used for official gap records.

I only have a free host to upload to, the file size is 18.2mb. If you wish to host it, please do so.

I managed 304 easily, but could not get 305 no matter how much I tried.

Press the + buttons to extend the second platform. 1 button will add 100, the next 10 and then 1. The final button will move the platform.

So pressing the first button twice, then the second button 4 times, then the third button siz times, will give a total of 246. Pressing the equals button will move the platform to 246 units distance.

Nicely made, got to 312, can get a bit further I think.
A few minors: The gap is not very wide, causing insufficient space fore 250/333 fps jumping.
The number changer is a bit close to the gap, so I accidentally added 100 units a couple of times when loading position.
Also, can you remove units aswell?

Very much so.

There are two things if I had more time, I would've done.
Added a subtract button and made the triggers react at a smaller distance. I had only 3 hours sleep before having to get up for work so, I didnt bother.

Instead of subtracting, just keep hitting the units button (or others also) to return the button back to '0'.

The space of the platform is exactly the same (i think) as I provided for CoD2 gap jump test map. Maybe 2moro I will update this.
