Vista audio issues

Post by Pedsdude » October 26th, 2007, 4:47 pm

I've had Vista for a month now, and I've come into a few difficulties (which may or may not be related to the fact I have Vista).

Say I'm listening to a song on iTunes, and then I decide to pause the song. If I then try and listen to an audio file using a different program, it comes up with an error and won't load (see video: http://codjumper.com/files/issue.avi). I also find that if I try and watch videos on YouTube, then it either plays but with really dodgy audio, or the video plays and there is no audio at all.

It seems to happen randomly, and as far as I know the only solution is to log off my user area and then log back on again.

Does anyone know anything about this issue, and if so, can they help me please?

Thank you for that fucking useless comment which I expected from someone. I have Vista, and I'm not changing for the foreseeable future, so either make a post useful to me or none at all.

Why is Vista so 'bad' in the first place anyway ?

Let's not start this into a 'why not to get Vista' topic please.

What is the spec like on your pc? A couple things I would try would be to get the latest drivers for your sound card, and see if there's anything running in the background that could be causing a conflict.

My PC is reasonably new, so the specs shouldn't be an issue. Someone on another forums recommended checking out my sound drivers, so I'll do that. Thank you.

You list an audio issue and then don't list your card or chipset...

there is no other current answer (until above is sorted) than, "Don't use vista".

Using Vista with RealPlayer and made a movie with the very well know codec TSCC?http://www.techsmith.com/codecs/tscc/default.asp

- Get the latest soundcard drivers.
- Install Real Alternative 1.60 en remove realplayer (please) (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Rea ... native.htm)
- Think this forum has some answers for u http://vistarewired.com/2007/02/06/soun ... ff-problem

** Problem is Vista!!
