Upgrading PC.

Post by Volpeh » January 8th, 2013, 5:26 am

Alright, so recently I've bought Black Ops 2. And it turns out, even on the lowest settings I get at least 30 fps.

It looks all choppy and laggy, I was wondering what I should get for my PC to run all games 60 fps constant on highest settings.

Here's some examples for Black Ops 2.

And here's my current specs.

So if anyone knows what I should get to make my PC run better for games, that would be awesome.

There is no beating around the bush with this one, you don't need upgrade components, you need a new PC.
Your gonna need to state a budget for someone to give you a clue.

no he doesn't. his GPU is fine, he has enough RAM, he just needs a new CPU. black ops 2 isn't really GPU dependent; i can run it fine on my laptop with a mobile GPU. if you think he needs a new pc when he just has a cpu that's lacking you really have no idea what you're talking about.

Where does he state he wants a PC that runs "Black Ops 2" only.
I was wondering what I should get for my PC to run all games
Hitman: Absolution
Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Athlon II X4

Requires a new Processor, Motherboard and Operating System

Assassins Creed III
Recommended:
Memory: 4 GB

I am sure they do not recommend 4Gb of DDR2.
Requires a few more GB of (better) ram.

The hard drive is 4 years old, running on SATA, very low capacity and small cache.
(Not required but) recommend a new Hard Drive.

So, new Processor, Motherboard, Ram, Hard Drive and Operating System.
To me, that would constitute a new computer.

I'm also not buying fucking far cry 3 and putting it on high nigger settings.

As trap has said, all I need is a new cpu. and maybe upgrade my ram.

rofl you realize that recommended/minimum specs on the back of the box are really inaccurate 99% of the time? just look at cod4's recommended specs. my old computer has a really horrible processor and 512 mb of ram yet it can run cod4 @ constant 250 fps easily

To get a new cpu, you need a new motherboard. And because youd get a new motherboard youd need ddr3 ram so thats 3 components already.. and yeah hes right a newer hdd would help out and 64 bit os is a must.. gtx 660 is great though.. everything else sucks.

Hah, no.

I'm not some twelve year old that likes Justin Bieber.

The only twitter account I've EVER HAD is my original ImVolpeh one.

So many name changes.

Anyways, if you're still thinking it's me. I'd be happy to supply you with a photo of me.

No thanks, the fact you are a 4chan regular, considering your 'greentext' and your memes thrown every few seconds, I do not trust I would see a shot that didn't contain a sharpie. Also, for the record - I still think this is you, two years ago.

Thank fuck for the reassurance, I haven't done much PC building in a few years, but I was fairly confident my brain still worked.
