Strike Strafe Jump Help

Post by zkyz » July 12th, 2010, 5:32 am

Hey guys, recently ive been getting into jumping. And i thought id start on perfectly one of those not easy but not particularly hard jumps. Ive been trying to perfect the one on strike, from top sniper across the road. However i can never really do it. I have done it here and there. However i dont understand why sometimes i make it sometimes i dont. Just wondering if u guys have any tips on how to strafe better. Or could u just have a look at the following demo and tell me what im doing wrong :S

For the demo:

It's a pretty damn tough jump with 125 FPS, I just use the bind I have for it (credit to Infinite, I believe :P).

Are i see, i have done it a couple of times with 125 fps, however i am restricted to this due to promod (Being australian this is the only competitive gaming mode.) and this is on all good servers in australia.

However, would i be able to try the bind?

Hmm, they were posted on these forums before so I'm going to assume Infinite is still happy for them to be reproduced:

- Add these lines into your config_mp.cfg:

seta strafe1 "cl_yawspeed 100;+sprint;+forward;wait 15;+moveleft;+left;wait 30;cl_yawspeed 300;wait 35;+gostand;-gostand;vstr strafe2"
seta strafe2 "wait 20;cl_yawspeed 50;-left;wait 150;-forward;-sprint;-moveleft;cl_yawspeed 140"

- Then load the game, open console, type:

/bind <key> vstr strafe1
(where <key> is the key you want to bind it to)

You then stand up on the balcony as shown in this demo file:
http://www.codjumper.com/files/strikebind.dm_1

Bear in mind that it only works with light weight classes (e.g. sniper, spec ops), and you must be using 125 FPS.

It might work with heavy weapons but then the script needs to be changed.

you must be using 125 FPS.
Use this:

seta strafe1 "com_maxfps 125; cl_yawspeed 100;+sprint;+forward;wait 15;+moveleft;+left;wait 30;cl_yawspeed 300;wait 35;+gostand;-gostand;vstr strafe2"
seta strafe2 "wait 20;cl_yawspeed 50;-left;wait 150;-forward;-sprint;-moveleft;cl_yawspeed 140"

It doesn't go far enough with heavier classes. I personally didn't think it was possible with the 47, so I didn't bother to try to gear the script for that (and even if I thought it might be possible, the script would have to make a nearly perfect strafe to make it, which would be fairly hard).

i dont think it needs to be nearly perfect because i did it like 10 times or so with an ak47 and im not a very good strafer.. gap is 308 with an aku :S and thats with a lot of practise XD
