I don't have anything to say about this game yet, but I do have far more respect for Treyarch than I do Infinity Ward.

Not only did (and they still are) provide support and content for the community, but they listened to what the players liked. Instead of spending a lot of time on the regular multiplayer which they realized they messed up on, they developed and added on to what the players really liked: zombie survival mode. Zombie mode itself was something to congratulate Treyarch for, they took what they knew the players liked from previous games and added onto it. The only support CoD4 ever received was one mediocre map pack. MW2 just received a mediocre map pack as well.

After a while (from the release of MW2) I started regaining respect for Infinity Ward because they decided to try a new approach for the PC community to see if they could attract new customers. Because of this, I thought they might be trying to steer their game in the same way Treyarch did for WaW. I now realize that they simply did it to get more money instead of actually reshaping their game. If they made it more noob/console friendly, more people might buy it for PC. Treyarch's approach was completely different, they added on to what they had previously instead of drastically changing the whole game.

I agree that the zombie mod is extremely populair and they did a damn good job on that. I actually enjoyed it more than the MP. The MP had maps which were too big, the sound is really lame and some weapons are insanely OP. Tanks can fuck off. CoD is an infantry game, not infantry + tanks (UO made specially designed maps for tanks).

But in all honesty, the zombie maps were becoming stupidly big after the first 2. No longer a simple design, but just too big. Impossible to cover things up. The extras were funny though, like the vending machine buffs and the Ray Gun was pretty awesome.

Also, being able to customize your zombie game would be a plus aswell. After a while it ends up camping a corner. Maybe make it so that more and more zombies come after a while, while also running faster and doing more damage, but not requiring more bullets to kill. You'll end up without ammo overtime instead of not being able to kill the zombies because they take half a LMG clip per zombie to kill.

I think I'm going to do a straight up Activision boycott until they change how they do things. They're worse than EA used to be.

It's not a game I plan to boycott, in the same way WaW wasn't. If the game isn't up to standard, I won't buy it, in the same way that I didn't buy WaW based on the terrible demo they released.
