Guess Zidane was never taught the old saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me".

So does that mean its ok and his violent behavior is ok?

Everyone is so quick to defend the wrong person here, sure what Materazzi said was unsportsmanlike and I don't say it was appropriate, but name-calling is something that can be tolerated much more easily than violence. If it was the other way around, I would be saying the same thing.
