Hey everyone,

Is there any settings that i can modify on my laptop that will give better performance FPS wise while playing CoD4?

Also, when i join a server my fps is around 40-60 but after around a minute it will drop to 10. Would this just be my laptop overheating or is there other things that may be causing it to drop?

Have a google for yitch3.cfg, this gives very minimum graphics settings to boost performance. As for the fps dropping after a minute or so, that indeed sounds like it could be an overheating/lack of power supply issue.

It could be some kind of memory leak that develops over time also - essentially reducing your available RAM / vRam.

This also, although I have zero information to provide on them.

I will download yitch3.cfg now and jump around with it.

Could there also be settings on my actual laptop that is limiting performance or would that not make much of a difference?

Alright thanks.

One more thing, after i downloaded yitch3.cfg i tried getting onto the server "Codjumper by CaptainKirk" and it comes up with the following message:

"Attempted to overrun string in call va()"

Do you know how to fix this?

nevermind i figured it out ;P

Im not too sure but i think it was a problem with the map as i am able to get on all of the other maps on the server.

Actually sorry, it was giving me this error message because i had custom skins on my guns as i think it interferes with the skins on the server.
