Oh dear. We haven't even had an opening ceremony yet and we are fucking things up.
To be fair to the organisers though... North Korea, South Korea... same fucking thing.

Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory.

I feel sorry for the UK regardless of whether or not they pull it off. Having to follow China is pretty much impossible.

I can't see it. Can you guys explain it a little bit what's happening and give your opinion about it?

It's a ~30second preview of the opening ceremony. From what was shown it looks pathetic (poorly organised dancing that looks like a primary school performance, some shit with people jumping on NHS hospital beds).[SoE]_Zaitsev wrote:I can't see it. Especially since they faked it.Soviet wrote:I feel sorry for the UK regardless of whether or not they pull it off. Having to follow China is pretty much impossible.
The fireworks were digitally inserted in to the TV feeds, they simulated a helicopter flying through the firework display by adding a simple camera shake and finally the chinese girl who sang at the beginning of the olympics was a 9 year old lip-syncing stooge that they thought was prettier than the actual real 7 year old singer.
At least when we do it wrong, it will be real.

Looks shit, and 1 billion people are predicted to watch it. I reckon I'll watch for 5 minutes before I get bored and turn off.

The performance was actually much more entertaining than I was expecting. I especially liked the Mr. Bean part!
Gave up on watching the countries come out though, stopped at China after I saw the 7ft man. Might turn it on again later in time for GB team at the end...

The fireworks were great... for the parts they televised >.> (I am a good few miles out and the sound of them was fucking loud).
Bean & Bond ftw.

Well I was pleasantly surprised; better than what everyone thought it would be then? Since I live in Glastonbury the "Tor" looked a little odd and why an oak tree on top? The tourists are going to be surprised when they actually see how tall it is
