Total War series

Post by Azabael » November 21st, 2009, 1:54 pm

Yes, I've seen the Empire: Total War topic. But this is different.

I am a big fan of the Total War series. From Shogun up to Medieval2. I didn't buy Empire when it was released since the computer I had back then, didn't even come close to the graphics requirements. Later on, I got myself a new pc which took all my money, though. I heard a new 'Total War' was incoming. Napoleon: Total War. They said Empire had just been a test for the ultimate Total War of that era: Napoleon. So I am really curious what Napoleon will bring us.

Any interesting thoughts from fellow Total War fans?

Sadly just as in CoH the gameplay is too slow for me. Heared lots of good stuff about the series though and I also think there's quite some expansion packs out.

However of the 4 friends I have that play Empire - every one of us has issues with it running smoothly with Steam, or it simply crashes or bugs out (it barely works if you have vista 64bit for example). I haven't tried on windows 7 64bit.

Over all, good games though. Interesting to see how Napoleon turns out!
And you have the legal version? Because I know there were a lot of bugs at first, in empire. But the patches have solved msot of them

Too slow? If you make your managing decisions very quick, this game doesn't have to be slow, in my opinion.
If you mean the fight that are too slow. Then I can't help you, indeed.

With regard to pace, the game is as fast paced as you make it. If you are playing it well and tactically you should find everything is happening so quick that you can hardly micromanage everything.

This post will be about THird Age: Total War. A custom made mod completely in LotR style. As battlemap you have middel earth. Every little thing is changed into that theme. Personally, I find it amazing. So if you're interested, try it out!

Here some Trailers/Fanmovies:

And final, the link where you can download Third Age.
Remember, you need medieval2 + kingdoms to be able to play it!
Install it in this order: Install Medieval2 + Kingdoms. Download + install the kingdoms patch. Then download Third age and install it. After that, you download the Third Age patches 1.1 1.2 and 1.3 and install them in that order. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
