Re: Battlefield 3
Well, bought it...
So far some great pros and some horrible cons.
I have yet to play MP...
Pro - Single player is awesome, Graphics are amazing, Level design / atmosphere etc is great.
Con - 'Origin', Forced internet, Firefox Plugin required to PLAY, At least one crash per hour so far on SP (sometimes 2) and a few minor bugs here and there.
Social media is RUINING gaming. I don't give a fuck how good my friends are doing, I couldn't give a fuck what my accuracy is for every gun in the game, how far I have driven a tank, how many pressups I have done... I also do NOT want to be forced to use FIREFOX so I can play the game! Firefox is hardly a light-resource software, if anyone can tell me a method of avoiding the bullshit of loading the 'browser' I will be a lot happier.
A promising Single Player ruined by yet another developer rushing to release. Day one patches that require week two patches are becoming a unhealthy norm.

Re: Battlefield 3
That you don't give a fuck about your accuracy for guns etc doesn't mean others don't like it. I for one, personally, like to see my stats.
But that's the only point I don't agree on, all others you're right.
And I haven't played BF3 yet (I will eventually, but Skyrim will eat away my time later).
Besides, you haven't played the MP, the most important aspect of the game. Come back again once you played that since I'm curious about your opinion

Every other game in the past was able to track these details without requiring a participation, registration and a download.[SoE]_Zaitsev wrote:That you don't give a fuck about your accuracy for guns etc doesn't mean others don't like it. I for one, personally, like to see my stats.
There were stat trackers in every other FPS game in the past through a third party app, you didnt need to participate if you didnt want, yet EA have decided I have no option to be a part of their statistical package. I do not feel I should require a Firefox addon to play a Single Player game...

Worse news for Origin:Soviet wrote:So Origin is a failure? I am in shock
Origin will soon support third party games. This means that there may be more games that require Origin to run, and technically that could mean that both Steam and Origin could be given rights to distribute the game and you would be required to have BOTH enabled to play...
Sounds fun, right?

Re: Battlefield 3
Aha I see. What's your opinion about in-game stats then? (Like with BC2). And what do you think of upgrading your weapons by actually playing with them? Not sure if you can upgrade them, but I'm thinking BC2 style, earn stars for every 100 kills.Drofder2004 wrote:Every other game in the past was able to track these details without requiring a participation, registration and a download.[SoE]_Zaitsev wrote:That you don't give a fuck about your accuracy for guns etc doesn't mean others don't like it. Re: Battlefield 3
I'm not surprised they've gone down the "achievements"/"earning upgrades with weapons" route, because from a basic level, psychologically it gets people more addicted to the game.

Re: Battlefield 3
Well things like that also make people to use different guns and not the all-round best weapon. And it makes the game last longer too.
